AMCP Foundation and Genentech Offered Summer Internships in Managed Care Pharmacy
Alexandria, Va., October 6, 2017 — The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation is delighted to announce that two student pharmacists recently completed a summer internship organized by the Foundation and supported by Genentech, Inc. The interns executed capstone research projects, which will be delivered via poster presentations at AMCP Nexus 2017, Oct. 16-19, in Dallas, Texas.
The highly competitive national internship offers future practitioners the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the biotechnology industry. This year’s participants will join the ranks of 165 alumni who have completed Foundation-organized internships over the years.
“The real-world training made possible by Genentech is invaluable in grooming the next generation of health care decision-makers,” says Paula J. Eichenbrenner, CAE, Executive Director of the AMCP Foundation. “We are so proud of these talented young pharmacists! This immersive educational experience also assists the efforts of school of pharmacy faculty to expose more student pharmacists to managed care.”
In its first year, the AMCP Foundation/Genentech, Inc. Evidence for Access Summer Internship provides an opportunity for interns to contribute to meaningful projects and interact with industry experts within the Evidence for Access Team US Medical Affairs at Genentech.
