New Practitioner Award
The AMCP New Practitioner Award was established in 2015 to recognize an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy within five years of graduation from first professional degree in pharmacy, medicine or nursing.
An AMCP member who has made a contribution to managed care pharmacy within five years of graduation from a first professional degree program in pharmacy, medicine, or nursing and has been actively engaged with AMCP at the local or national level. The five-year window is from when the award is given not when application is submitted. (For example, those nominated for the 2020 awards would include those that graduated beginning in 2015.)
Nominations are accepted from any AMCP member and include up to a 500-word statement describing the contribution deemed worthy of recognition. Self-nominations are not permitted. In addition, the nominees’ current Curriculum Vitae (CV) and two (2) additional letters of support are to be included in the nomination package.
The recipient is selected by a selection committee composed of members of the AMCP Organizational Affairs Committee for first four years. Starting in the fifth year, past recipients of the award will serve as the selection committee for this award.
NATURE OF AWARD:
The AMCP New Practitioner Award is presented annually at the spring meeting. The recipient receives a plaque, a complimentary registration and travel reimbursement (up to $1,000) to the meeting where the award is presented.
