AMCP Awards & Recognition
AMCP confers awards to recognize members and non-members who have made significant contributions to the profession of managed care pharmacy and to AMCP. Award recipients are publicly recognized at the spring meeting.
Nominations for the 2021 awards are now open through December 17, 2020. Awards will be presented at the AMCP Annual Meeting in April 2021.
Diplomat of the Year Award - This award recognizes an individual responsible for significant activity in assisting a School of Pharmacy with their efforts to increase knowledge about managed care and visibility into the managed care field. The 2020 winner was Tasmina Hydery.
Distinguished Service Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member who has made exceptional and sustained contributions to AMCP over at least a five year period. The 2020 winner was Richard A. Zabinski.
Experiential Education Preceptor Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy by being a preceptor to student pharmacists for Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and/or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) focused in managed care pharmacy. The 2020 winner was Stephen Lott.
Fellow (FAMCP) Program - The Fellows program was established to acknowledge sustained excellence in the pharmacy profession, grant recognition for exceptional contributions, long term commitment and active participation in the Academy. The 2020 Fellow inductees included Elizabeth Brusig, Jessica Daw, Michael Pazirandeh, and Tracy McDowd.
Grassroots Advocacy Award - This award recognizes an individual or group responsible for significant activity around a grassroots cause. The 2020 winners were Elizabeth Sampsel.
Individual Contribution Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to the Academy by any means other than service as an AMCP Committee member over the past year. The 2020 winner was Judy Stein.
JMCP Award for Excellence - This award recognizes an article published in JMCP in each calendar year that represents the best scholarly work in managed care pharmacy. The award presented in 2020 went to "Actionable Real-World Evidence to Improve Health Outcomes and Reduce Medical Spending Among Risk-Stratified Patients with Diabetes” by Elizabeth Garry et al. J Manag Care Spec Pharm. 2019;25(12):1442-52
Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Director/Preceptor Award - This new award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy by being managed care residency program director or preceptor. The 2020 winner was Lisa Haw.
New Practitioner Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy within five years of graduation from first professional degree in pharmacy, medicine or nursing. The 2019 winner is Joshua Brown.
Spirit of Volunteerism Award - This award recognizes a current AMCP Committee Member who has demonstrated exemplary and outstanding service to AMCP over the past year; and, has provided volunteer activities that resulted in successful and/or high quality AMCP program, projects or services for its members. The 2020 winner was Iris Tam.
