Educational/Special Requirements

Prerequisites:

Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy

Eligibility of licensure in North Carolina by October 31, 2024

The Drug Information Residency does not utilize the PhORCAS Application Process.

The application should include a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation. Application materials for the Duke University Hospital and GlaxoSmithKline Drug Information Residency must be submitted electronically on our website.

Applications should be submitted no later than November 3rd, 2023.

Special Features

This unique drug and medical information residency is a specialized program consisting of 12 months of advanced training designed to develop a pharmacy practitioner, with expertise in the provision of medical information and medication-use policy development. This program offers a mix of experiences within an academic medical center and a global pharmaceutical company.

Half of the program will be spent at Duke University Hospital, while the other half will be spent training as a Medical Information Fellow at GSK’s Durham, NC campus. Enriched experiences at both sites will strengthen competencies in evaluating evidence-based literature, project management, protocol review, formulary development and teaching.
