A Clinical Update on a Preventive Treatment Option for Adults with Migraine

A Science & Innovation Webinar, presented by Abbvie.

Migraine is a complex, chronic disease that results in significant patient and economic burden. Migraine ranks second worldwide in terms of years lost due to disability. Direct annual all cause healthcare costs for a migraine patient is over twice that of a non-migraine patient. Indirect costs from the impact of the disease on a patient's ability to function (absenteeism and presenteeism) total over $35B annually.

Therefore, it is important to appropriately manage a person with migraine who experiences greater than 4 attacks a month (or severe disability from at least two attacks a month) and may benefit from preventive therapy. One of the main goals of preventive therapy is to improve function and reduce disability. Utilizing a stratified care approach to preventive migraine treatment is key to accomplish this goal.

A Non-Surgical 24-Hour Continuous Levodopa Infusion for Advanced Parkinson's Disease

A Science & Innovation Webinar, presented by Abbvie.

Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the dysfunction and loss of dopamine-producing neurons in the brain, along with the accumulation of Lewy body pathology. The condition leads to a gradual progression of both motor and non-motor symptoms. Although oral dopaminergic drugs provide symptom control for about 3 to 6 years, their benefits decrease over time, resulting in a narrower therapeutic window and worsening symptoms.

Vyalev (Foslevodopa/Foscarbidopa Continuous Subcutaneous Infusion) offers the first 24-hour subcutaneous infusion of levodopa-based treatment, specifically designed to help individuals with advanced Parkinson’s Disease experiencing severe motor fluctuations not adequately managed by other therapies.

Cost Effectiveness of Covalent BTKis Among Medicare Patients with CLL

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a complex, indolent blood cancer in which immature lymphocytes are found mostly in the blood and bone marrow. It is the most common type of leukemia in adults, affecting an estimated 226,432 people in the United States as of 2022. The entry of Bruton’s tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKis) into the treatment landscape caused a shift to more targeted oral therapy. The cost of treatment and medically managing CLL patients within the US healthcare system is of particular interest for healthcare decision makers. The objective of this webinar is to explore the results of a cost-effectiveness analyses of covalent BTKis in first-line (1L) or relapsed/refractory (R/R) settings using data from clinical trials and the US Medicare perspective.
