Mission

The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Southwest Affiliate (AMCP Southwest) will provide:

  • An organized approach to providing services to all managed care pharmacists and professionals in our covered states
  • Opportunities for education, networking and advocacy for managed care pharmacists and professionals in our covered states
  • Avenues in which strategic projects important to its members can be considered; and services and programs at a local level.

States that are included in AMCP Southwest include Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

There are no additional charges to be an AMCP Southwest member; however, you must be a current AMCP member for affiliate membership.
 

Events & Activities

Attention: Students Interested in learning about a career in the pharmaceutical industry - Apply for the LEO Gilead Student Programs

AMCP Southwest invites its student members to apply for the 2026 Student Pharmacy Programs in partnership with LEO Pharma and Gilead. Selected students will participate in an onsite visit to the manufacturer’s facility, gaining firsthand exposure to pharmaceutical industry operations and hearing directly from pharmacists across a range of career paths. Eligible applicants must be P2–P4 PharmD students, current AMCP members, and enrolled at a college of pharmacy within their AMCP affiliate region. Applications must be submitted to your appropriate affiliate by 12:00 pm ET on May 27, 2026.

Monthly Meetings 
The Southwest Affiliate holds a monthly meeting (video call) to discuss current and future affiliate and national events, AMCP membership updates, and volunteer opportunities. This meeting will occur on the second Thursday of every month at 3:30pm CT. Meeting time and day are subject to change in consideration of holidays and AMCP Southwest Board availability.

As a reminder, the only requirement to join this call is to be a current AMCP member in good standing. If you wish to be added to the invite, please email us at @email.
