Legislative Update: Senate Committees Hold Hearings on the FY 2027 HHS Budget
On April 3, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) unveiled its Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 budget request. It proposes $111.1 billion in discretionary budget authority for FY 2027, marking a 12.5% decrease from enacted levels for FY 2026. On April 22, the Senate Committee on Finance and Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) held hearings with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to discuss aspects of the budget request.
