Kimberly Lenz, PharmD, MBA, FAMCP

Kimberly Lenz, PharmD, MBA, FAMCP, serves as the Chief Pharmacy Officer for MassHealth, the Massachusetts Medicaid and CHIP program. In this role, she oversees all clinical and operational aspects of the pharmacy benefit, including direct negotiations, value-based contracting, and formulary management for approximately two million members.
Her clinical areas of focus include appropriate opioid prescribing, substance use disorder, transitions of care, and multidisciplinary approaches to managing complex disease states.
Dr. Lenz remains deeply engaged in national pharmacy and health policy organizations. She has served and chaired multiple committees within the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and currently serves on the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review’s New England Comparative Effectiveness Public Advisory Council, as Vice Chair of the American Medicaid Pharmacy Administrators Association, and as Co-Chair of ISPOR’s North American Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Roundtable.
She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut, completed a residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and obtained her MBA from the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Lenz is a Fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School.
