House Energy and Commerce Committee Advances Lower Costs, More Transparency Act
On July 20 and 21, the House Energy and Commerce Committee held a markup of 29 bills pertaining to energy permitting, critical minerals, illicit drugs, and health care price transparency. This includes the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act of 2026 (H.R. 9393), a comprehensive price transparency and health care affordability package led by Chairman Brett Guthrie (R-KY) and Ranking Member Frank Pallone (D-NJ), which advanced for further consideration by the full House of Representatives in a unanimous committee vote.
