AMCP Responds to Senate Finance Request for Options to Lower Drug Prices

On June 16, Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) released a request for information (RFI) on proposals aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs. The RFI specifically sought policy proposals to lower the price manufacturers charge for prescription drugs; lower out-of-pocket costs for patients; and foster biopharmaceutical innovation, clinical trials, and scientific talent development. The drug pricing RFI is the first in a series of requests by Senate Finance Democrats geared toward developing concrete legislative proposals in the near future. On Aug. 17, AMCP submitted comments in response to the drug pricing RFI.
