AMCP Volunteer Spotlight: Justin Bioc

Justin Bioc

AMCP's volunteers are vital players in propelling our mission forward. In this installment of the AMCP Volunteer Spotlight, we are featuring Justin Bioc, PharmD.

What interested you in becoming a volunteer for AMCP and in what areas of AMCP did you volunteer?

I’m an all or nothing kind of guy and like to commit to things. Since becoming an AMCP member, I wanted to be involved, so I volunteered for really anything and everything that I could find or came my way. I volunteer for poster mentoring, the conference buddy program, AMCP committees, and just pitch-hit where I can be of service.

What value do you think you gained from that experience?

It’s helped expose me to a new community, different perspectives in managed care, and a variety of opportunities in the industry. I found this particularly helpful as managed care is such a deep world. There are so many people doing interesting and creative things. I wouldn’t have run into all the people that I know today without volunteering.

What advice would you give an AMCP member who wants to become a volunteer?

Just do it! Don’t know where to start? Talk to me! Have you heard about AMCP Collaborate? Try posting on there asking for an opportunity.

Is there anything else you would like to provide?

I hope you’ll come say hi to me at the AMCP conference or affiliate event if you see me. Most people say that they know I’m there because they heard my laugh. Or reach out to me and we can jump on a call if you’re interested in getting more involved.
