The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation
invites you to volunteer for our Best Poster Competition held at the
AMCP Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Meeting 2018, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, MA.
We are seeking volunteers for poster judges and poster mentors. Your
assistance in providing a rewarding experience for our poster presenter’s, and
your commitment to research in managed care pharmacy, is invaluable.
The competition is designed for student pharmacists and residents/fellows.
Judging and mentoring will not be open to posters in other disciplines. These student and resident/fellow
non-reviewed abstracts are usually projects where data is not available at time
of submission, but may be available at the time of the meeting.
The Best Poster Award is given to one student pharmacist and
one resident or fellow with the most outstanding poster, as evaluated by our
volunteer judges. The recipients from each category of the Best Poster
Competition will be announced and presented with the award at the Student
Pharmacist Awards Ceremony on Friday, during the AMCP Annual Meeting. The recipients will also
receive a cash award of $500, an engraved plaque, a complimentary AMCP
membership for one year, recognition in AMCP News & Views, and
complimentary registration to AMCP Nexus 2018 in Orlando, FL.
What is expected of a Poster Judge? A poster judge reviews and scores a set of poster abstracts assigned to them prior to the competition. Onsite, the poster judges evaluate a subset of in-person poster presentations, interacting with authors. Based on final scores, the Best Student, Best Resident/Fellow, and Best Graduate Student poster recipients are selected. The AMCP Foundation Best Poster Competition is held on Wednesday, April 25.
What is expected of a
Poster Mentor? A poster mentor prepares the poster presenter to speak about
their research by visiting assigned posters, asking questions of the presenters
and providing feedback. Onsite, the poster mentors are expected to spend 5 - 15
minutes with a selection of poster presenters on Wednesday, April 25. Mentors will only be assigned to poster presentations in the student
and resident/fellow non-reviewed categories.
All judges and mentors will receive a ribbon at
registration.
