Prime Therapeutics, a leader in pharmacy benefit management, conducts the residency program in Bloomington, Minnesota. The program mission is to develop a clinically focused managed care pharmacist with a desire to improve the health of patients and bring cost effective medication management strategies to clients. The Resident will become proficient in the development and administration of managed care tools instrumental in a pharmacy benefit including formulary, utilization management programs, outcomes based research, benefit design, networks, government programs including Medicare and Medicaid, specialty pharmacy, and account management. The Resident will also learn how to administer individualized patient care using managed care tools and the medication therapy management program. The Resident may have the opportunity to present research findings at national meetings and prepare manuscripts for submission to peer reviewed journals. Upon completion of the residency, the Resident will be prepared for positions in managed care organizations and pharmacy benefit management companies.
