Brain Preservation in MS: Are We Seeing the Whole Picture?

Science & Innovation Theater Webinar

Recorded on November 15, 2018

Sponsored by Celgene

Significant progress has been made in understanding the pathology of multiple sclerosis (MS). While MS has historically been considered a white matter disease, it is increasingly recognized that many other factors can contribute to the disease course, including grey matter pathology and early-stage neuronal loss.

During this presentation, an expert will discuss the concept of “brain preservation in MS” as a framework to understand key factors that can impact patients’ neurological health. Topics include:

  • Neurological reserve and its connection to atrophy occurring early in the disease course
  • The relevance of grey matter pathology in MS and its implications for patient outcomes
  • The impact of comorbidities and patient lifestyle choices on neurological function
