About San Antonio
&
The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center

With a population of over one million, San Antonio, Texas is big in every way.  Each year more than twenty six million people visit the shining star of Texas, and it’s easy to see why.  The Alamo, a famous fort where Texans fought for independence from Mexico, is just one of the many historic landmarks the city offers.  Unlike many modern cities, San Antonio has managed to transition into contemporary times without losing site of its past.

The River Walk is a good example of that – the mix of Spanish, Mexican, and Texan influences is clearly apparent in the flavor and historical architecture.  The River Walk, spanning almost 4 miles, is a beautiful stretch of cobblestone and flagstone paths along the San Antonio River.  While visiting, you can partake in a variety of cultural activities from live music, river boat dining, and even a Mexican rodeo.  From its friendly residents, Texas home-style cooking and renowned Mexican fare to exciting nightlife, it's no wonder that so many people call San Antonio home and so many more travel to Texas to visit this timeless city on the river.

Past or present, old or young, San Antonio offers something for everyone.

Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center

The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center is nestled in the heart of historic downtown San Antonio along the banks of the River Walk.  The Convention Center offers state-of-the-art technology and an unrivaled pairing of steel and style that make it a spectacular sight.  The city itself flows through the Convention Center, bringing with it the charm of a small town’s heart and soul.  The San Antonio River extends through the Convention Center with river taxi stops, event patios, native landscaping and limestone walkways leading to picturesque plazas, walkways, and waterfalls.

The Convention Center is also conveniently located within walking distance to many of the city’s key attractions, including the Alamo; historic La Villita – site of the city’s original civilian settlement; shopping malls, boutiques, and art galleries.  Don’t forget the variety of delightful restaurants and lively night spots too!
