OVERVIEW OF AMCP DRUG PAYMENT RESOURCE LIBRARY
The Resource Library represents AMCP’s effort to assemble and make accessible documents that support an understanding of drug payment in the United States.
The first Resource Library was posted to the AMCP website in October 2007. The updated Resource Library includes over 1,500 documents, abstracts of documents, hotlinks to documents and hotlinks to websites (together referred to as ‘resources’), compiled through July 2009.
Resources were gathered from over 200 websites, some accessed directly and others identified through Google-supported search on particular topics. The following are the types of websites that were reviewed and from which resources were gathered:
  • Associations
  • Blogs
  • Consulting, legal & data organizations
  • Consumer advocacy organizations
  • Document repositories
  • Government & government affiliated entities
  • International websites
  • Journals
  • Manufacturer-supported publications
  • News sources
  • Pharmacy Benefit Management companies
  • Provider/payer-supported organizations
  • Think tanks& health policy organizations
  • University-based websites
Where copyright owners control resource access, hotlinks point to the websites at which resources were housed at the time they were accessed. Where AMCP has permission we have posted the resources to the Library. AMCP will update the library on a periodic basis to ensure that it remains current.

The Resource Library consists of ‘Mind Maps’ and a search engine. The first Mind Map is a User’s Guide to provide you additional information regarding the Library. You must register to access the Resource Library. AMCP will not charge for registration or use of the Library. Your registration information will not be shared externally or used for any commercial or promotional purposes.

Resources housed in the Resource Library may be accessed in two ways:

Access via Mind Maps:
Click on this link: » ACCESS VIA MIND MAPS
  • Mind Maps are visual representations of different aspects of the US pharmaceutical marketplace.
  • Each Mind Map is built around a central idea, with branches that represent related subsidiary ideas.
  • Library resources are linked to the Mind Map central idea and branches.
  • A resource is linked to one Mind Map branch location, although it may include information relevant to other branches or Mind Maps.
  • Resources may be accessed by clicking on paperclip icons shown on branches of the Mind Maps or by clicking on the Index Listing on the left hand side of the screen in the ‘Home’ or ‘Table of Contents’ views, and finally by clicking on the name of the resource.
  • Please use the Library’s Word Search function if you are unable to find a resource to address a particular question, or if you prefer to bypass the Mind Maps.
