Genentech Medical Communications
Purpose:
The purpose of this internship is to provide the Doctor of Pharmacy candidate an opportunity to participate in an industry based Medical Communications (Drug Information) group. The candidate will gain knowledge in providing product information to health care professionals and interacting with related departments in a regulated environment. The candidate will learn the methods and practices used in the industry-based drug information practice setting.
Description/Requirements:
This paid summer internship will be 10 to 12 weeks in duration, with normal business hours. Candidates must have basic computer skills, an interest in drug information, and must have completed at least 2 years of a Doctor of Pharmacy program. Genentech’s internship program requirements must be met for consideration/participation (cover letter, resume, and phone interview).
Goals/Objectives:
- Provide experience is a pharmaceutical industry-based Medical Communications department
- Develop a familiarity of various drug information resources
- Improve ability to comprehend, analyze, and present medical information in a variety of formats
