The Academy has posted a summary of H.R. 4872, the “sidecar” or reconciliation bill to the Senate-passed health care reform bill (H.R. 3590). Released by the House on March 18, the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872) could go before the full House for a vote on March 21.

As the Academy strives to continuously improve the quality of your learning experience, we have created an online resource for educational session handouts that allows you to download the documents electronically 24/7, before, during and after the conference.  As a registered attendee of AMCP’s 22nd Annual Meeting & Showcase, you will have access to the online handouts beginning March 29, 2010 by logging onto AMCP’s website at www.amcp.org and clicking on the SESSION HANDOUTS icon on the “Destination San Diego” conference page.  There will not be any printed handouts distributed at the conference in San Diego, so attendees are encouraged to print out the materials of sessions they plan to attend in advance.

April M. Shaughnessy, Director of External Relations at AMCP, has received a national award for her dedication to the development of student pharmacists and new practitioners. She is the recipient of the 2010 Linwood F. Tice Friend of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) award. The award was presented March 15 at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C.
