AMCP Foundation/Allergan Plc Specialized Summer Internship Program in Health Outcomes
The 2017 application is now available.
Allergan Plc, in partnership with the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Foundation, has sponsored the Allergan Plc Specialized Summer Internship Program in Health Outcomes for two student pharmacists. The program’s goal is to stimulate student pharmacists' interest in career options in health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics through exposure to research, measurement and applications to evidence-based decision-making. In addition, the interns will gain knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, managed health care systems, a public charity, and professional association management.
Two selected student pharmacists will spend nine weeks at the Allergan's Global Health Economic and Outcomes Research Department in Irvine, Ca., under the supervision of pharmacist preceptors and will complete a health outcomes-related project. In addition, interns will spend up to one week at AMCP/Foundation headquarters.
The program will cover housing, travel and other approved expenses. Interns will also receive a modest stipend.
Interns must be enrolled as a full-time Doctor of Pharmacy degree student in an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy during the 2016-2017 school year, with anticipated graduation in 2018 or 2019. They must be eligible for employment in the United States.
Candidates must submit an online application, two letters of recommendation and a letter of good academic standing from their institution.
