    Educational/Special Requirements: 
    Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with experiential or internship based experience in managed care pharmacy practice preferred. The applicant should have Kentucky pharmacist licensure by September 1 within the program year. The applicant should be able to work in a team or individual capacity to achieve requirements for managed care residency certification.

    Humana’s residency program offers a broad range of programming that will offer exposure to various aspects of managed care pharmacy and provide opportunities with business acumen. The program offerings include, but are not limited to, clinical strategy and clinical programs that focus on patient safety and medication adherence, Pharmacy and Therapeutics participation and presentation, formulary management, pipeline and trend management, sales segment support, medication therapy management, prior authorization and outcomes research. The program introduces the resident to Humana’s RightSource retail operations, provider networks, trade relations and requires completion of a Teaching Certificate and resident project. Leadership courses and opportunities to apply and strengthen managed care skills are included within the program.    
    Upon completion of the residency, the resident will be prepared for a position in a managed care organization and/or pharmacy benefit management company.
