The mission of the Medicare Advantage Part D pharmacy PGY1 residency program is to empower and educate the resident in all areas of Medicare Part D practice, including: • Quality improvement • Medication therapy management • Formulary • Coverage determinations, appeals and grievances • Fraud, waste and abuse • CMS Compliance • Vendor management • Operations • Part B drug management • Audits and compliance • Administration • Product development The residency program promotes and advances the practice of Medicare managed-care pharmacy by providing our resident with the experience and confidence to be a highly-qualified practitioner in this practice setting. Although the program is non-accredited, it follows American Society of Health-System Pharmacists suggested guidelines and standards to ensure the program provides a structured learning experience.
