AMCP Adds Four New Members to Board of Directors – Dana McCormick Becomes President

Tampa, FL, April 4, 2014 — The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) today announced four new members to the AMCP Board of Directors during this morning's General Session of the AMCP's 26th Annual Meeting & Expo in Tampa, Fl.
 
The Academy's new President-Elect for 2014-15 is Raulo S. Frear, PharmD, a longtime AMCP member of 22 years, former member of the AMCP Board (2010-12) and former member and Chair of the AMCP Professional Practice Committee. Frear is general manager, OmedaRx, Inc., for Cambia Health Solutions, Inc.; he's served on committees and leadership roles in numerous pharmacy and business groups. He'll become president in April 2015.
 
Other new directors elected to the board include:
 
  • Gary M. Owens, MD, President, Gary Owens Associates, has presented at numerous AMCP conferences and published in JMCP and other health and managed care publications. He's the first physician elected to the Board, made possible by a by-law amendment allowing Physician and Nurse Members to serve as directors. 
  • James T. Kenney, BS Pharmacy, Pharmacy Operations Manager for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, is concluding his term on the Public Policy Committee. A 25-year AMCP member, he's a peer reviewer for JMCP. 
  • Janeen McBride, BS Pharmacy, VP, Business Development for MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc, is a former Board member and an AMCP member since 1998. She's concluding her term on the Special Projects Committee. 
 
Dana McCormick moves up to AMCP President after serving as President-Elect this past year. She's currently Area Medical Manager at Sanofi-Aventis.
 
"Our new members and leadership will help take the Academy to the next level in advancing our strategic aims in specialty pharmacy, research, and education," said AMCP Chief Executive Officer Edith A. Rosato, RPh, IOM. "Raulo, Gary, Janeen and James bring strong views and deep backgrounds to the challenges and solutions in using managed care pharmacy to improve health care quality and affordability."
