APPE DESCRIPTION 
Description of the Activities in which the Student Pharmacist will be Involved 
CVS Caremark is a leading pharmaceutical services company, providing comprehensive drug benefit services to plan members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. CVS Caremark's clients include large and small employers, health plans/ managed care organizations, insurance companies, unions, government agencies and other funded benefit plans. The managed care rotation will provide the student with a unique opportunity to work on initiatives that foster proactive management of pharmaceutical and overall health care costs, including drug tends, financial and utilization analysis, drug information, specialty pharmacy management, formulary management, DUR management (implementation, management and reporting), utilization management (PA, QL, Step Therapy, Dose Optimization, etc.) and clinical solutions (sales, customization, implementation, reporting).
 
APPE Length 
Adaptable to school requirements - typically 5 weeks
 
APPE Schedule 
We operate in a very traditional office setting, so there is little flexibility for a non-traditional PharmD program.
 
IPPE DESCRIPTION 
Site does not offer an IPPE.

Site can accomodate one (1) student pharmacist per rotation block.
