Description of the Activities in which the Student Pharmacist will be Involved 
American Health Care is a health management company that specializes in delivering patient-centric programs—pharmacy benefit, disease, and therapy management—that emphasize clinical excellence.  Student pharmacists will have the opportunity to work alongside the clinical pharmacists of American Health Care and collaborate on various managed care projects focused on formulary development.  To gain a greater understanding of this specialized pharmacy field, activities will include: prior authorizations; drug monographs; topic in-services; and search, evaluation, and presentation of scientific literature.
APPE Length 

The experience can be structured as a 5-week or 6-week rotation.  There may be a possibility to provide flexibility in how the rotation is structured for those in a non-traditional PharmD program.

APPE Schedule 
Site can accomodate students throughout the year except during the transition period of an incoming resident.  Contact preceptor for additional information.
Site does not offer an IPPE.
Site Capacity 
Site can accomodate two (2) student pharmacists at a time-except during the transition period of an incoming resident.
State and School/College Preference 
Site can accept student pharmacists from any school and/or state; however, the site already has affiliation agreements with California Northstate College of Pharmacy, Touro University, University of the Pacific and Western University.
Site does not provide housing or housing assistance.

Student Pharmacist Prerequisites Prior to the Rotation Start 

Present affiliation agreements require that the schools be responsible for fingerprinting, background checks, and drug screening arrangements.  American Health Care is not responsible for assuring that these are performed.
