Accomplishments

AMCP's Format for Formulary Submissions - The Foundation worked with managed health care systems, schools of pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry for over three years to develop a universal process that can be used to assess the effectiveness and safety of pharmaceutical products from a value and outcome perspective. The Format is now acknowledged as the cornerstone of Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee assessments. The Foundation continues to train health care professionals in the appropriate utilization of the AMCP Format and foster the process of evidence-based decision making.

The Framework for Quality Drug Therapy- The Framework, developed by the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and AMCP Foundation with the help of over 100 health care professionals, is a tool that can be used by individual pharmacists, pharmacy chains, health plans, PBMs and hospital pharmacy departments to improve the management of drug therapy for patients through a process of continuous quality improvement. Now available as an interactive web-based tool, the Framework systematically analyzes if drug therapy management is meeting the expectations of its customers; develops realistic action plans to meet those expectations; and analyzes the outcomes.

Steven G. Avey Award- This prestigious annual award recognizes professionals who have shown great leadership, vision and dedication to managed care pharmacy. Previous recipients have pioneered many of the practices now firmly established in our profession.

AMCP Foundation Best Student and Best Resident/Fellow Poster Awards - Presented at the AMCP Annual Meeting to the pharmacy student and resident or fellow who submits the most outstanding poster.
